Booking Information and Terms and Conditions Racecourse Cottage, Cartmel

Thank you for booking Racecourse Cottage . We look forward to welcoming you. When making this booking you are entering into a contractual agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions below.

Confirmation

To confirm a booking, a deposit of 25% of  the cost is required. Full payment of the balance is required 1 calendar month prior to the start of your stay. Please allow time for cheques to clear before the due date. We accept the following forms of payment:

Bank transfer and personal cheque. Full payment is required when making a booking less than 1 month before your arrival date.

Children: We consider Racecourse cottage to be unsuitable for children under 12, please ask.

Pets: We have a strict no pet policy.

Cancellation: Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit you may have paid is non-refundable if the booking is cancelled within 1 month of your arrival date. If you need to cancel please contact us immediately. For cancellations made after full payment has been received, we will endeavour to re-­let the cottage. If we manage to re-­let the cottage we will return the money you have paid us less any cost to us in re-­letting the cottage due to your cancellation. This cost may include any discount we have to offer as an incentive to re-­let the cottage. We recommend that you take out travel insurance which provides for cancellation cover.

CANCELLATION must be made initially by telephone and confirmed by email.

Broadband and Mobiles: We provide Broadband/Wifi in the cottage, however, we will not accept responsibility for loss of this service due to the service provider. Mobile telephone reception is erratic in the village, EE/Orange and Vodafone giving the best signal.

No smoking: We have a strict no smoking policy in the cottage and it’s grounds.

Non-availability: We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however, if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

Arrival: Your accommodation is available to you from 16.00h on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged.

Departure: Please be ready to leave your accommodation by 10.00am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged. The cottage must be left in a clean and tidy condition.

Damages and Breakages: Please take care with our accommodation. A Damage Deposit of £150 is required on booking. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur. If there is malicious damage or inappropriate use of the property, its fixtures, fittings and contents in excess of this figure you may be asked for a further payment. Where no claim is made the Damage Deposit value will be refunded in full 10 days after your departure.

Faults & complaints: Any faults or complaints must be reported to us at the time of occurrence. Our cottage and its equipment is regularly maintained and any major failure of equipment, property or utilities will be rectified as quickly as possible. However, we cannot be held responsible for any inconvenience caused.

Liability: We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

Data: Any data gathered during the course of this booking may be held on computer.

Finding your way to the Property – Keys: Written directions are sent together with entry details once final payment has been received from you. You must supply your full address and contact telephone numbers before the code for the key safe is given to you.

Parties including Stag & Hen Celebrations: We do not take bookings for stag or hen parties and in some cases other celebrations. If your intended booking is for the above type of occasion, regardless of the party’s make-up, you need to discuss this with us – failure to do so may result in your being turned away from a property.

Restrictions:The cottage and grounds are only for the use of the guests staying in the cottage and up to a maximum of 6 people. You must not use the cottage for any purpose other than that of a private holiday residence, nor alter the cottage or its contents or remove any contents from the cottage, nor use any flammable materials, fireworks or candles in or on the cottage and keep the cottage in a clean and tidy state. No banners or other decorations are to be stuck to the walls and windows.

Anyone found to be in breach of these conditions may be asked to leave immediately.
